  2. Wow, I thought this was the Warren Beatty version. Interesting that it has the exact same name but has nothing to do with each other. GENE TIERNEY is stunning indeed, Laura is one of those classics I still need to check out as well.

  3. I haven’t seen the 1978 version yet. I didn’t realize it wasn’t a remake of this one.

    I agree that the grandfather character was the most entertaining one. They even kept him around longer than one of the parents, if I recall correctly. I also agree that Ameche’s character didn’t really do anything that bad, at least as it was presented in the movie. It felt more like a “boys will be boys” attitude.

    • Yeah I’m still not sure why the 78 version has this title. That’s right, I completely forgot the grandpa lives far longer than his parents…wonder what that says about their health?
