  1. Sorry, tried to leave a comment on your From Here to Eternity podcast, but couldn’t. I had fun listening to it. You are a funny lot! But seriously, Montgomery Clift deserved way more love than he got. Zinnemann demanded him for the film, because he was not just perfect for the part, but one of the (and some say, the) greatest actors of the 1950’s. While I do see the pretty, I also disagree that his performance was one-note. His character had a very dramatic arc, (from tortured soul to killer, from in love, to willing to abandon Donna Reed), and he delivered beautifully.
