I pride myself in being honest with y’all, so I’m going to come out and say this: I struggle with Kathryn Grayson. I’ve never quite put a finger on why… I just do. I don’t ‘not like’ her movies, I’ve just never found one that I’ve really fallen in love with. I mean, I’m not really a Howard Keel fan either… maybe I associate them with each other? Maybe it’s the music? I don’t know. These are just harder movies for me.
However, as I mentioned earlier with Louis Armstrong, this is why Summer Under the Stars is good! More exposure is never a bad thing! As a film fan, I’ve found that reactions to a movie or a celebrity can change massively over the years. All at once, the clouds part and suddenly you don’t remember why you couldn’t stand a person!

The 1952 remake of Roberta is a fun one and features Red Skelton, Marge and Gower Champion, Ann Miller and Howard Keel. There’s comedy! Dancing! Zsa Zsa Gabor!
Plus, Lovely to Look At also contains the very moment I fell in love with Marge and Gower Champion…
